Since I've published the biographies about the painters Ludwig and Wilhelm Hofelich on my website and since I'm offering paintings of Wilhelm Hofelich too, I'm receiving nearly every day emails from collectors and art lovers.
My project to present to the public an almost unknown painter from Munich and to protect him from oblivion succeeded obviously at least in the beginning. The recognition which I get for my research has also been overwhelming.
Some of these admirers of Hofelich’s became friends of mine during the last year. And some of them have become very dear to me. In the hundreds of emails we've exchanged opinions about Wilhelm Hofelich's works. Intelligent, funny, humorous, touching and affectionate letters cascade into my home.
And so I've decided at the end of this eventful year to add a further chapter to my website. Under the title "email fragments" I'd like to present some excerpts from some of the kind letters I’ve received. The authors are some of my valued customers, who remain anonymous for reasons of data protection.
The leading character is always the painter Wilhelm Hofelich, but I, as his "patrona", also receive some praise. So please, make allowances for me, when I also publish some passages, which are a balm for my own soul.
In December 2006 I included the expressionist painter Hans Tyderle on my website. Therefore you'll find comments about this artist as well from e-mail fragment number 64 onwards.
